About Iwantja
Iwantja (Indulkana) is located approximately 10km west of the Stuart Highway in South Australia. It lies about 360 south of Alice Springs.
Iwantja is an Anangu community, often referred to as Indulkana Community, on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands in the northwest of South Australia. Although Iwantja is regarded as a Pitjantjatjara community, the majority of people there refer to themselves as Yankunytjatjara, which is a group having its origins in the eastern section of the Lands.
The community consists of approximately 200-250 people with a small number of people occupying outlying homelands.
